I am a passionate consumer advocate and pride myself on fighting for the “little guy (or gal).” I have practiced law for over 18 years with experience in employment law, business law, personal injury, and government/administrative law.
After graduating from Southwestern University School of Law in the heart of Los Angeles, I started my career with a boutique litigation firm in Los Angeles. This small firm gave me hands on experience in every aspect of litigation and allowed me to give our clients the personal attention that a large firm can’t.
As a dedicated plaintiff’s side employment litigation attorney, I am a proud member of the California Employment Attorney’s Association. I have litigated discrimination and retaliation cases involving disabilities, religion, pregnancy, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, national origin, age, gender, veterans, service animals, sexual harassment, FMLA, CFRA, and reasonable accommodation. These cases usually involve wrongful termination and hostile work environments. I have also litigated wage and hour cases involving unpaid wages, overtime, double time, minimum wage, prevailing wages, piece rate, sleep time, travel time, business expenses, bounced paychecks, and commissions.
I have represented clients through trial, arbitration, mediation, and prelitigation settlement.
As an attorney with the State of California, I served as Special Counsel at the Department of Motor Vehicles and Chief Deputy Director and CEO/Acting Director of the California Lottery. As in house legal adviser for 12 years, I gave expert advice on matters including employment issues, POBR investigations, Skelly rights, SPB settlements, multi-million dollar contracts, government regulations, and professional licensing issues.
In private practice, I have represented California State employees, including peace officers, fire fighters, doctors, psychiatrists, managers, supervisors, analysts, and rank and file employees.
I reside in Elk Grove, California with my wife and four children.
